A day in Dubai

On Wednesday we had planned a day in Dubai. I like showing visitors the contrasts between Abu Dhabi and Dubai - Dubai being more glitzy and sparkly, and all in all - bigger.
We had a super busy day planned, starting out at the Gold & Diamond Park! I had some things ordered that I needed to pick up, needed to order some other things, and the girls as well had some things on their list.

Jenny did NOT have a ring on her shopping list, but she completely fell in love with the ring here on her right finger - she is all into pink, and glittery, so this was just perfect! She contemplated and thought about it ALL day. Unfortunately in the end, she decided against buying it - despite my heavy pep talk FOR.

After a quick stop at the RBA crew hotel to pick up a very special shipment from Brunei (more about that in another post), we went for a super delicious sushi lunch outside, by the Dubai Mall fountain. Perfect timing - the fountain started playing and dancing just as we sat down!

Perfect temperature, lovely sunshine, great views, yummy food and the best company!

The girls then went up Burj Khalifa. Obviously. A must when in Dubai for the first time.

After that I wanted to show them the "sights" inside the Mall, the ice rink and the aquarium...

... and of course the waterfall:

Then it was asked for "Free Play", ha ha! So actually we split up for two hours before it was time to go back to the Gold & Diamond Park to pick up our jewelery. Everybody could browse and look around as they pleased. Jenny looked at clothes and Erika spent those hours in the Kinokunyia book shop.
Me, I sat outside the book shop in a big comfy chair, doing some people watching while resting my feet!

On the way home we stopped in to the Dubai Marina to have some dinner. It was heaven sitting outside eating. I so love this time of the year here, I wish the temperatures could be like this all the time...
