This week I got to visit Lucas at school, when his grade invited all parents to a Science Fair to celebrate the end of their unit. The students had been working very hard during their 'How The World Works' unit, and they had put in a lot of time and effort into exploring how scientific inquiry impacts our lives.
They presented all their different projects in their class room. Lucas had researched how long it would take a potato to charge an iPad 2%.
His friends had done projects on what other liquids oil mixes with, how much water a sponge will absorb in a certain time, if boys are stronger than girls, what objects are magnetic etc etc. I had a look at all the different boards, and enjoyed the students explaining their experiments to me. Well done Grade 5!
