Easter in Sydney

We started our long Easter weekend on Good Friday with a cooked breakfast on the balcony. Yum!

It was yet another beautiful day, so I went for a walk around the neighbourhood in Breakfast Point.

It is so fascinating to see so many weird and wonderful, colourful and spectacular birds in the wild! Like parrots, cockatoos or big ibis birds.

As everything is closed on Good Friday, even the supermarkets, we didn't do much for the rest of the day. Ended it in front of the 'Traitors' on TV, with a snack board and some G&Ts.

Early Easter

I have already brought out the Easter decorations a few weeks early, as we will be travelling for Easter, but I still wanted to enjoy them!

Kids or no kids in the house, I think I have always decorated mostly for my own pleasure! All my different little seasonal decorations make me so happy!

Skara Easter

We were welcomed in Skara with another Easter feast! Yum!

More board games, playing 'När då då'. We have almost all the categories, and always enjoy playing it at Mormor and Morfars.

On Easter Sunday Mormor had invited my Aunt and my cousin Emma with her family. It was the first time we got to meet the newest addition to the Gustafsson clan - little five-week old baby girl Elicia... or... maybe Meja...? She actually hasn't got a name yet, but they were trying these two out.

"Sandwich cake" - one of my favourites! Mmm!

Malmö Easter

Linnea has three weeks of Spring Break this year due to Ramadan, or more precisely the Eid celebrations falling at the end of the holiday. She just didn't want to travel as her final exams are coming up, and not being able to study stressed her out.

So while her and Nathan had Thomas and his friend Klaus visiting, I took off to Sweden for a short trip to visit my parents. Having the direct flights to Copenhagen has changed all travel for us, it's super!

As per usual I did a stop over in Malmö, to catch up with Pia. After landing early in the morning, we spent most of the day at Emporia doing the shopping I had on my list. Then we picked Lucas up from his apartment, and went back to Bunkeflo for Easter dinner. It was Good Friday after all.

Pia had prepared a lovely spread, focusing on salmon and luxurious whitefish roe.

We had a really nice evening with all this great food, and a couple of rounds of a new board game I had bought that brought so many laughs. So much fun!

The following morning, on Easter Saturday, Lucas joined me for the train trip up to Skara and onto some more Easter celebrations with Mormor and Morfar.

The first Zeina Easter

This was our first Easter in the apartment. I decorated already before leaving for Sweden, by changing the pillow covers to in some spring colours in the living area, and adding some spring flowers:

Added some Easter decorations on my desk:

And in the rest of the house:

Love spring colours!

I also brought home some Swedish gold... Swedish pick n' mix, yum!

Happy Easter!

Easter is coming

In a way I wish we would have come a week later, and really enjoyed the Easter weekend in Sweden. Not only because the weather seemed to shape up as we left, but I really would've have liked to go on the traditional Konstrunda, which kicked off the same day we left.

But, we did get some spring feelings, especially on the sunny days. The spring flowers were really fighting against the cold temperatures, but there were some!

We had Easter themed fika!

And, it the Easter spirit we had a relaxing week. We played my new board game 'Mexican Train' which I got at Ullared (after having played it at Game Night), and I sat on the balcony and enjoyed the sun.

We had some Easter food as well, the day before we left. Well, Easter, Christmas, Midsummer... actually it's all mostly the same, meatballs, sausages, egg and herring. Add some yellow napkins, and it makes it Easter food!

Only a week this time, then it was time to go - farewell Skara for this time.

Always goodbye photos on the porch.

Easter outing

My cousin Emma picked us up to go to an Easter Market on the weekend. We had expected it to be a lot bigger, so it was a quick visit. Not much to see, nothing to buy. I was looking for some nice handmade Easter decorations, but no luck.

But at least Sixten got to meet the Easter Bunny!

And, it was sunny! Yay!

We ditched the market rather quickly though, and went for fika instead. Emma took us to a creperie out in the middle of nowhere, and we enjoyed some nice filled pancakes there; and some play!
