The Jubail Mangrove Park

On Monday morning after having dropped off the kids at school Carin and I went to explore a brand new attraction here in Abu Dhabi, which just opened this weekend - the Jubail Mangrove Park.

Look at that crystal clear water, look at that blue sky, look at those colours!

The boardwalk around the park has three different routes, where the longest is 2 km - so not a super challenge, of course we opted for that full loop.

Here you could get onto this floating platform to have a look through the net and get a glimpse of the marine life underneath.

A bit down the boardwalk there was this lookout to climb. It was high tide when we visited, so plenty of water around. If you come at other times you might see a much dryer landscape, with all those mangrove roots sticking up.

There wasn't many people at all along the boardwalk this morning, it felt like we had the whole park almost to ourselves. Gorgeous!

This is really an amazingly beautiful place, it's so rare to get to experience this kind of pristine nature experience here in the sandpit, which makes it even more enjoyable. At least in these cooler winter months...
