Athens - Arrival

This year the kids had a whole week off school for Midterm Holidays. It seems to differ year by year, sometimes it's just a few days or a long weekend, but this year it ended up being a whole week. So I thought we should make the most of it and travel somewhere.
We talked about a few different places, Vietnam - as we have never been, but now have friends living there for a few years, so it would be great to see it while they can show us around. We also thought about going to the US as we've never been there either; but finally we ended up booking ourselves to go to Athens! Another place where especially Lucas and I have been wanting to go for a while.

I got some good tips on what to do and what to see from my Greek guide colleague Amaryllis, and made a loose plan for our four days there.
We had a morning flight there so we arrived at our hotel mid afternoon, unpacked and got sorted and just went for a quick walk around the neighbourhood to find something to eat.

We had packed accordingly (a bit of everything!), so we didn't freeze, but it was really cold! Only about 6-7 degrees, lucky we had our winter jackets!
