Örebro Svampen

We continued our exploration of Örebro in the afternoon, by taking a walk out to another one of the very famous landmarks of the city - Svampen (=the mushroom).

This water tower was built in 1958 and is 58 meters high. It holds 9 million liters of water. It stand out almost more like a piece of art than a building.

We headed up to the observation deck which was free, but started by having lunch inside in the restaurant. They served up traditional kåldolmar och lingonsylt (=cabbage rolls with lingonberry jam), mmm!

You can walk around the rim of the tower where you have 360 views over Örebro. A great place to go if you are ever in Örebro!
