Another Guinness World Record

Did you know that the UAE holds the Guinness World Record in the amounts of Guinness World Records?

Linnea and I stumbled across one of the very latest ones yesterday at the mall - behold the largest sand art structure in the world:

This sand art structure weighs 2,245.5 kg and was created in time for the UAE National Day.

It is currently on display at the Yas Mall square:

The UAE has set over 420 Guinness World Records. One of the more famous ones of course being the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, which beyond being the world's tallest building also holds over a dozen other world records. Here in Abu Dhabi we have for example the world's largest handwoven carpet (5,625 sqm) in the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the world's fastest accelerating roller coaster at Ferrari World (240 km/h).
But the UAE also holds some weird and wonderful ones, as the most expensive Christmas tree ever decorated, the recent one of the world's largest sock word, the most shoelaces tied in a bow in one minute (31), the world's largest gold ring (64 kg!) or the world's fastest police car in service (a Bugatti Veyron), just to name a few.
