While we still have the gate in place on the stairs, it's actually rarely closed anymore. Oakley just wants to be where we are, so if we are downstairs he doesn't wander off upstairs on his own anyway. We have decided to keep the gate in place for a wee longer just in case as we don't want him to sneak up there and then get hurt eating some little toy or something.
But if we are busy doing stuff upstairs, he gets to come along more and more.
The other day he came up with Lucas to his room, and found a new favourite spot in Lucas' window. He thought that was fantastic! He discovered can sit up there and keep track of what's going on outside, in all three directions! Bless him, that kept him happy for hours!
