On the water

The weather was really amazing all week long in Stockholm, superb summer weather. Erika and I put some nice dresses on and got ready for another day of exploring the capital.

It was such a beautiful day we decided to go on a canal tour!

We traveled under fifteen bridges and passed through a lock that connects the Baltic Sea with Lake Mälaren. We passed many of the city’s sights as we sailed by the different parts of Stockholm - the inner city, the Old Town, the islands Södermalm, Lilla and Stora Essingen, the new area Hammarby Sjöstad and the green areas of Djurgården.

It was a great way to get a feel for all these islands making Stockholm such a beauty on water.

In the evening we went to eat dinner at a place where we have been before, Pytterian. Swedish pyttipanna (=hash) really is one of my favourite dishes, even though it's very simple. It is sooo yummy!

On the way home we passed an old fashioned candy shop and stopped in to get some dessert. It felt really naughty, without the kids, ha ha!
