Fjäderholmarna

We woke up to another absolutely stunning day in Stockholm today, and decided to take another boat trip. I have never really been to any of the many islands in the Stockholm archipelago so it was about time. We saw many other boats setting off from downtown, both big sail boats and other tour boats.

We chose to go to Fjäderholmarna which is the closest of all the islands in the archipelago of our capital, the boat trip only took about 25 minutes.

We certainly weren't the only ones with the same idea, especially not on a splendid summers day like this. A lot of people, both tourists and locals enjoy a trip to Fjäderholmarna for a bit of an excursion; there are plenty of cafés, restaurants - and the possibility to go for a swim even.

We didn't bring our swimmers though. Instead we headed straight to one of the more popular restaurants on the island for some lunch, and even though we hadn't booked, we were lucky to get a table.

Oh, that was so enjoyable! A fantastic 'husmanskost' (=traditional everyday food) lunch and some beer in the basking sunshine...!

After lunch we took a stroll around the island to check out the many little studios of the craftsmen and artisans that sell their craft.

I just can't get enough of the sun, and the blue, and the green... aaahhh...

It was such a lovely, lovely day. All that gorgeous sunshine, the beautiful island, the sea... spending quality time with my good friend. Another sunny memory to tuck away for boring, beige days in the sandpit.
