Last night we went out to an event at the Etihad Arena, with the Harlem Globetrotters who were in town for one night only. Basketball as entertainment might not be an obvious choice for us, but as tickets were only 50 AED as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations, we decided why not? Fun to do something different!
I hadn't yet been to the brand new Etihad Arena since it opened, so I was excited to visit for the first time.
I was aware of the Harlem Globetrotters and what they do. I just didn't know their history stretches back almost 100 years, did you know they played their very first game in 1927!!
The Harlem Globetrotters and the Washington Generals entertained us not only with their comedy during the exhibition match, but with their impressive ball handling skills, tricks, skits and fast, fun play.
After the game, the kids went for a selfie with their favourite player, 4ft5in tall 'Hot Shot' Swanson. He decided to hijack Linneas phone, ha ha, so she got a whole roll of nice shots of him in his mask..!
