We started out with a day of sightseeing for Emma and Linus to get used to the heat a bit before we hit the beach. Even though we are now in October, it's still rather hot and humid during the daytime but the evenings are really giving us a taste of what's to come, nice and comfortable.
First things first, when i Abu Dhabi you HAVE to visit the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque:
It was actually really busy, seems like the tourist season is already in full swing. We had a nice walk-around though and I got to freshen up on all my knowledge before I start working properly next week.
Emma and I:
After the Mosque we decided to do a bit of a drive-by sightseeing, but then actually changed plans for a closer look at the Emirates Palace.
Linus was excited to see some nice cars parked outside, and so was Sixten:
Emma wanted to try their signature Emirates Palace gold cappuccino:
And Sixten ate probably the most expensive ice cream of his life..! Gold covered camel milk vanilla ice cream!
We even had time to do a quick stop at the Heritage Village. It was super super hot, but I really wanted them to get a chance to see the modern skyline, from the historical side of the Corniche.
We tried to escape the heat by having a look in the small museum. A very cultural day all together!
