On Tuesday all our activities ended up being car themed. In the morning we drove out into the desert to the Emirates Auto Museum. It was something Linus had heard about and wanted to see, and we also thought it would be a hit with Sixten obviously.
Yes, it's about 40 km away from Abu Dhabi and there was nobody else but
us there, but it's still a cool place to visit if you have the slightest
interest in cars. Last time I was there was over 4 years ago, and there
was a few different cars there this time to last. All the cars belong
to the private collection of HH Sheikh Hamdan, and as he uses some of them, the exhibition is
constantly changing.
This 4:1 scale jeep wasn't here last time I visited, so impressive!
The world's biggest Dodge was still there, of course. Not only is it in perfect working order, it is also loaded with four luxury bedrooms, a fully functional kitchen, several bathrooms and a livingroom.
A rainbow Fiat, so cute!
Perhaps one of the most valuable pieces in the collection, a Benz Patent-Motorwagen from 1885:
The Mercedes rainbow collection. The Sheikh had one Mercedes for each day of the week, all equipped with TV and fridge.
And in the afternoon, while Linnea was a netball game, Lucas took Linus to Ferrari World to ride the world's fastest rollercoaster, amongst other things. Emma and I took Sixten to the mall, and to the indoor Fun Park, to ride some slightly calmer attractions:
Although Sixten preferred to walk beside the ride...
All in all a good day had by all!
