I took Mormor and Morfar into town the other day, to show them the Etihad Modern Art Gallery, and the Antiques Museum. I was there with SWEA in October, and really enjoyed it. I knew they would too.
They did enjoy the modern art, but mostly they enjoyed the antiques.
We also stopped at the Al Maqta Fort. This 200-year old fort is one of the oldest structures in Abu Dhabi. At the time it was built, Abu Dhabi was little more than a small fishing and trading port, and the isolated fort was used as a defence against bandits.
Unfortunately you couldn't go inside, but we took some nice photos at least!
