Rock'n Ropes

For a bit of an activity we decided to go check out the Rock'n Ropes after our lunch at the Huka Farm. It's an obstacle course type adventure, with different challenges as a giant swing and a flying trapeze among other things.

Kids opted for the Adrenaline Package, or "only the fun stuff" as the guy there said, and started out by climbing up and balancing across a high log:

The next challenge was to climb up to the top of this pole, find your balance, and throw yourself out to catch the trapeze. Not as easy as it looks. Linnea did the "koala" for a long time, just clinging on to the top without trying to stand up. She eventually made it, didn't go for the trapeze but got lowered down instead, in tears...

Then they got to do the giant swing. Not so much thinking involved there, more of a 'just do it'-attitude was needed. They both threw themselves off, even though Linnea came down in tears from this one too.

Finally, they did the 'Rock Drop', an attraction with several platforms where they got to jump and land into a giant air bag. Here's Linnea from the lowest level:

Both of them from step 2:

Only Lucas tried from the top platform. It took him quite a long time of building up before he did the jump so we all got a bit worried about those rain clouds... luckily he jumped before we got wet!
