Lucky lush living

We have just come back from our Spring Break holiday visiting the family in New Zealand, and there sure will be a few blog posts coming up telling what we have been up to. Although my OCD prevents me to do anything else than go back to the beginning... Let's start by having a look at our flights getting out there.
Might not sound fun, but trust me, this is worth having a look at..!

You see, we were extremely lucky as to get seats in First Class on the way to Sydney! Or at least three of us did - Lucas actually fell on the sword and took the Business Class seat. Not a hardship I know, ha ha, but we were very proud of him that he offered without prompting.

This was my first time in the A380 First Class, and oh yes, it was very impressive. This was my so called 'apartment' for the trip:

A lot of space, yes, a bit excessive for sure, buuut really nice when you have a 14+ hour flight ahead of you. To make you extra comfortable, you are provided with a luxury amenity kit, slippers, a blanket - and a really soft pyjamas!

Even though the flight left rather late, we had to have something to eat; so we listened to the onboard chef and both ordered his special. Om nom nom!

Linnea managed to push all the buttons and check out all the little different compartments within the first 2 minutes of settling in!

Both passengers from FC and BC can use the lounge, so we could hang out with Lucas there every now and then. He was also allowed to come up and see us, so in the morning he got a look around.

This is how the bed looks after they have made it up for you. It's actually a proper sized bed! And, the TV screen swung around in case you hadn't finished your movie before bedtime:

And yes, I had a lovely, lovely sleep here..!

Time for breakfast:

I had booked in for my shower about two hours before landing. Yes - SHOWER! All FC passengers got 20 minutes each in the bathroom, with 5 minutes of running water in the shower. Plenty of time to get clean, dry your hair (with the provided hair dryer!), and get dressed.

Each 'apartment' had a built-in vanity, so that you could then put on your face in peace in your own space:

Finally, to get into the right time zone (it was late afternoon in Sydney after all!), I had a last glass of lovely vino while catching up on my 'Grey's Anatomy':

We stayed overnight at Sydney airport and the next morning, we took the last skip and hop across the Tasman with Air New Zealand... a slightly more cramped experience, ha ha! Brought us right back to reality!
