Nathan and I spent the last week in Portugal. Our first trip by ourselves in a long time, and yes, it felt a bit weird. It was nice, but there was certainly moments I wished the kids would've been there too, to share those with them.
We flew through the night and after having landed early in the morning, we reached the hotel in only 20 minutes. Lucky for us, our room was already ready, so we could go install ourselves and have a short snooze before going exploring our surroundings.
We had chosen a boutique hotel just outside the city center which was really nice and quiet.
It was great weather so we opted to walk about. Criss-crossed most of the city center already on the first afternoon, and quickly realised that we would be getting some good workouts in this week. So. Many. Hills.
Since we had been cracking on since early morning, it really felt like the day that never ended... We got a bit tired so we sourced a roof top bar and got up there to get some good views of the city.
Views were fantastic, but Nathan wasn't too impressed with the size of their beers, ha ha! As they were craft beers, they only came in this "Mickey Mouse-size" as he referred to them!
We then went just across the road to the Time Out Market. We had done some research in watching the Lisbon-episode of 'Somebody feed Phil', and he warmly recommended this. Easy to see why!
There were so many options! We decided to have an early kind of dinner here, and got ourselves a huge charcuterie board and some lovely red wine. It was really really busy, as it was Saturday afternoon, lots of people watching to be had!
