Wednesday morning was an exciting morning at work, as we got new joiners to the team!
Check this out - ten big sea turtles were getting released into the lagoon at the Louvre Abu Dhabi, their new home for a few months ahead.
This is happening in collaboration with the National Aquarium and the Environment Agency.
These turtles have been rescued and rehabilitated, and for them to come and stay here is a part of the pre-release program, before they go back into the wild. The lagoon has been prepared and designed to replicate the conditions of the Arabian Gulf; so they can get used to the natural conditions before getting released, probably in April next year.
Such a beautiful idea and initiative! Having the turtles here at the museum, further emphasize how connected the architecture of this museum is to its environment, to the sea and the life in it.
