Linnea was invited to one of her Spanish classmate's birthday party this afternoon, together with only one other girl from the class, so I thought that it might be a small thing. Especially since they were going to host it poolside at one of the lush hotels at Yas Island.
Ehm... not quite. The rest of the party guests were made up of about 20-25 family friends, and they were ALL Spanish.
On the invite it stated the party would last from 4.30pm-6.30pm, but the Mum told me not to hurry back when I dropped Linnea off. Lucas and I went to IKEA for a bit (come on, we were so close!), and when we got back closer to 7pm, the kids had just ordered their food.
Never mind, we had a drink and some snacks. It was a beautiful evening after all, a bit of a breeze, gorgeous sunset, suave lounge music playing - what a setting for a kids birthday party!
Well, lucky Lucas found some boys to play with, and I found some friends to talk to - cause the party didn't quite finish (=they didn't have cake!) until - 9pm... :D
Gotta love all these cultural differences!
Yes, wouldn't mind waiting if it meant taking in that beautiful sunset...stunning!
