Because of illness, we also had to jump in and do the practical session on Wing 2. Not a big issue, even though it was with last minute notice. We did this as well for the first batch we trained last year.
If I love my job normally, to deliver tours in the museum and share the universal message with the visitors; I almost love being an instructor even more.
It is truly fulfilling to be able to share my own passion for art, history and storytelling with each new batch of eager tour guides. It is really nice to see them light up when they uncover interesting facts, new information or when they begin to understand the ideas and connections behind the curation of the collections.
I really enjoy this coaching process. To help shape each next group of External Tour Guides, and be able to contribute to them learning how to craft engaging and informative tours is very rewarding.
