Fush & chups

Lucas, being part Kiwi, loves his fish & chips. The best ones are the ones we get in Taupo from "down the road", but some that come pretty close and that has become his favourites here, are the ones at 'Jones the Grocer'.

'Jones the Grocer' is this lush, lush café not very far from school, or where we live. Today when we went there for lunch it was absolutely packed, it's a very popular spot. Apparently it's originally an Australian chain, that has spread to NZ, Singapore and the U.A.E.

Not only does it serve healthy, fresh and super delicious food, it also has a huge bakery and pastry section; and it sells both it's own branded goods, and other upmarket, luxury delicatessen items.

Finally, it boasts a seriously impressive fromagerie (basically, a full-on walk-in-cheese-room!), and a very well assorted charcuterie! Yum! Yes, it is a bit pricey so we try not to go too often, but hey - it's there and they have such yummy stuff! (Sorry Tash, we missed taking you there... Next time!)

(Apparently they are also supposed to sell proper liquorice! Oooh, I have to go check that out, soon!)

  1. Wow, that looks a-h-m-a-z-i-n-g! Just cannot find quality cheese here in Aus as they are not allowed unpasteurized cheeses for some reason! I am missing some punch and stink!
