For lunch we were venturing across the Bosporus to the Galataport area.
We had heard to be wary of the taxi drivers in Istanbul, but over the course of the weekend we took seven taxis, and only one tried to scam us (and did not succeed), so all good.

Galataport is a long stretch along the Bosporus filled with shops, restaurants and also further on the city cruise terminal.
We found this amazing large sculpture along the walk, by Ahmet Günestekin (2022). It was called Istanbul, the City of Names.
Hello! Can you see us?
It was beautifully detailed and really drew me in. All these giant superimposed rings of colours built up all the names Istanbul has been known by, including Constantinople, Byzantion, Islambol, Dersaadet. A way to visualise the history of the city, but also emphasise on the position as a cross-road and melting pot.
We were meeting up for lunch with a family friend of Tove's mum, that had helped out during the hospital stay with translation and such.
After the lunch, we continued to browse. Unfortunately I did not get the opportunity to go inside neither of these two museums situated out here. Maybe next time!
Instead we were going back across the Bosporus for our last adventure, a river cruise.
