Bosporus cruise

I really wanted to experience the Istanbul skyline from the water, and had tried to research the best cruises along the Bosporus. I picked one with great reviews at a reasonable price, which was going to take 1,5 hours to sail up and down the river.

Well... something went wrong, maybe we took the wrong boat, maybe it was the sudden shift in weather to this gloomy grey afternoon, maybe it was because Lucas wasn't feeling well... but it was a bit of a dud experience to be honest.

The tour took closer to 2 hours, and it felt like we were sitting on the Malmö-Copenhagen shuttle ferry. I had expected an audio commentary to what we saw outside the windows, but there was nothing.

I figured out myself that this was the Domabahçe Palace:

And this the Ortaköy, just below the 15th July Matryr's Bridge, the first to link Europe and Asia.

The Fortress of Europe, built in 1452.

Ah well, in hindsight we could've used those two hours much better. At least it was the cheapest of all fees we paid during the weekend, had it cost an arm and a leg like the other entrance fees, I would've been more upset. You win some you loose some.
