Göta Kanal

Time again for a little mini-vacation, packed the car up and off we went to meet up with our Italian friends the Tetis to spend a few days together. The final destination was Kristinehamn, but since Carin and her boys had never seen the locks at Sjötorp, we decided to meet up there and have lunch.

No boats were going through the locks at Sjötorp, so we drove to Norrqvarn instead. There we saw quite a few, among them this cool houseboat:

In Norrqvarn they have built a model of Göta Kanal, with some of the buildings and sights you see along the canal:

Then we reached our home for the next few days, the camping site Herrgårdscamping in Kristinehamn. We were greeted with beautiful evening sunshine, so the kids disappeared discovering the area, and Carin and I got a few moments all by ourselves - and could enjoy a bit of wine in peace. Aaahhh!

Then they all came back and were hungry, so time to sort them some dinner! Pasta and falukorv (=a special Swedish sausage), easy peasy!

We all stayed in the same cabin this time. Lucas and Alessio had their own little house (the one you can see behind the kids on the photo above); Carin, Niccolo and Riccardo slept in the bedroom bunk bed and Linnea and I were up in the loft. Worked out perfectly!
