Relaxed to the max

We spent the week before Christmas in Thailand, a vacation that was planned with only one 'must' in mind - it just had to be relaxing.
And that it was, for sure. We didn't even leave the resort for the first four days!

We stayed close to the airport up north, on the west side of Phuket, at the Holiday Inn at Mai Khao Beach. The longest beach in Phuket!

The hotel was right at the beach, had an infinity pool with a swim-up bar, and 'Happy Hour' between 5-7pm, what else do you need? :)

Happy Hour time! Mango Daiquiris... mmm!

At first we got a room that had "swim-up access" to the pool; but as they only got you into a shallow and decorative pool, we opted for an upgrade to a Junior Suite instead. It was perfect for us, with two rooms, one with bunk beds, bean bags and a TV with a Playstation..! :)

We had most of our dinners in the three restaurants just next to the hotel, as the food there was not only cheaper, but so much better! We enjoyed super fresh seafood nearly every night, got the kids to taste grilled crab, lobster, king prawns and more, mmm.

There was no vendors at all at this beach, so it was really peaceful and enjoyable.

We alternated a bit between having room service breakfast in our room some days, and going down to the buffet breakfast some days; both things were nice to do.

A lot of time was spent in the pool of course, but also in the Kids Club. It wasn't a bad idea for the kids to get out of the sun a bit every now and then, and in the Kids Club they could chill out with their friends, watch movies, play games, and participate in activities. Linnea made a candle f.e:

Nathan and I both had some Thai Oil massage at the beach, and also booked the whole family in at the Hotel Spa for some lovely massage. First time for the kids, and they both absolutely loved it!

Lovely pampering time, getting body scrubs, massages and manicures!

Kids watched a movie under the stars, with pizza and popcorn!

You could also chill in the reception, there was free wifi ALL over the hotel, which was really nice.

Mission complete, we are relaxed - to the max!
