One thing I've always loved living the expat life, is that you get to celebrate many different holidays from many different countries and cultures around the world. We always immensely enjoyed taking part in for example the CNY celebrations in Brunei, where the Chinese community was really big; we are also used to celebrate Indian Deepawali, Malay Hari Raya, Chinese Mooncake Festival, Irish St Patricks Day, Australia Day, the Kiwi Waitangi Day, Canada Day, Swedish Midsummer etc etc.
Here in Abu Dhabi we can always count on our neighbours to put on a great party, for any occasion really - but this weekend it was for their biggest celebration, 4th of July.
So we donned our red-white-and-blue and went over for a traditional American 4th of July BBQ!
When it's too hot to play outside, you make space and bring the garden games inside!
Yum, yum, yummie food!
